Alghero is one of the most famous cities in Sardinia, an Italian island famous for the beautiful beaches and crystal clear water.
The mass tourism is mainly focused on the summer season and the massive presence of tourists is slowly affecting the beaches.
It is therefore necessary to move the focus to other resources of the area and find ways for a responsible tourism.
We located different cycling routes in the area of Alghero and differentiated them based on the attractions and resources along their way: historical, wine and food, sports and hiking, landscape, water, natural parks.
We then redesigned the maps of the area, including these new paths and mapping all the relevant archeological sites and the businesses that decided to be involved in the project.
Collaborating with these businesses, we created a network and a package ticket for each theme. Every ticket includes the renting of the bike plus the visit of some archeological sites, or wine tasting or a lunch or an hour of snorkeling, etc.
